Tonal Metadata Language is a set of lightweight descriptive languages modeling music metadata. Tonal Disc Metadata Language is the first published one.
Files written in Tonal Disc Metadata Language use the .tmd file extension, standing for Tonal Metadata for Disc (not Tonal Markdown).
All .tmd files are stored in the discs catalog.
A .tmd file is capable of modeling below entities of an audio disc:
- Release title
- Release artist(s)
- Release date
- Disc number/count
- Work (composition)
- Section (part, act, scene, etc.)
- Track (movement)
- Recording date and venue
- Crediting artists
- Music groups and members
- Instruments and roles (of crediting artists)
Please read the complete user guide for the language reference.
